What the abatement actually covers

The state’s Standard Tax Abatement, administered through the Governor’s Office of Economic Development, applies to three separate tax categories. Your eligibility and the size of each abatement depend on job count, average wage, and capital investment.

Partial abatement on qualifying equipment and capital purchases tied to your project.

Reduced rate on the state’s payroll-based tax for a defined term after approval.

Partial abatement on business personal property, where the county applies it.
